Twenty years. Exactly today Tim and I are together for 20 years. And this in the month of love. Despite all these years, we never got married. But that doesn't mean that we aren't there for each other, for better and for worse, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part... Or how do these wedding vows go? 

But what is our secret? I needed to think about that as well. I believe it is all about loving yourself and loving the other, honouring effective communication. The same goes for personal branding. Building a strong personal brand equals starting a love affair. Personal branding is not just about you, it is also about the other so that you can build a meaningful relationship.

❤️ The love for yourself
Self love is the basis of everything, also of personal branding. Embrace your unique personality and be aware of your distinct value. I find it important that, during my personal branding journeys, you fall in love again with yourself first. Then I help my clients to write a kind of declaration of love to themselves: capturing in beautiful words what makes them so fascinating and attractive.

❤️ The love for the other
That declaration of love can be shared with the others. In that way they feel attracted to you and they will become your biggest fans. In other words, you and your ideal client will fall in love with each other and that's the start of a beautiful love story.

❤️ Effective communication
And then you can start writing love letters… Sharing your personal stories and special moments with the people who care. In that way you can get to know and understand each other better. Effective communication is key. 

And don't forget to listen to feedback. Learn from what the others are saying. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to know how the others see you, how you fascinate them and what they consider to be your most valuable qualities. That will make the relationship stronger and will help you and your personal brand to grow. And no, Tim and I didn't write a lot of love letters to each other. But everyone has his own love language, right? Find the language that suits you best and the authentic way in which you can fascinate others.

Love yourself, attract the other, share your love and listen to each other in a loving, connecting way. Cheers to love! And Tim... Cheers to us!
